This correspondence presents a higher order statistics (HOS) based modified version of the two-dimensional forward-backward linear prediction (2-D FBLP) method. The modified method is suitable for estimating 2-D frequencies of a 2-D data set observed in white or colored Gaussian noise (W/CGN) of unknown covariance. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method
