Abstract

In this paper, we present a multiple scale neural architecture for recognizing colored and textured images. The description and results of the architecture are preceded by an explanation of the Human Visual System, bio-inspired models for image segmentation, and ART-based neural networks used in image recognition. The presented architecture achieved good segmentation and recognition results in comparison to other methods.
