Abstract

Development of community wireless networks is mainly spontaneous and decentralized. The whole topology and utilization of such networks is often unknown. Because of an effort at cost-effective development, better security, quality of service etc., the need of central supervision and partial topology planning has appeared. This article deals with possibilities of discovery and managing the network topology and monitoring of its utilization in community networks environment. OSPF database and statistical analysis were employed during the initial experiments in order to obtain the topology graph and types of used network links.
