An optimized design of sensors and strategy of sensors placement will be extremely beneficial to both to ensure safety and reducing structural costs of the systems. The objective of this study is to provide a new method that is able to help sensor placement in the model. The chosen approach is based on structural analysis of the system. The sensors placement in order to detect and locate failures of the relations of the system to be monitored is a combinatorial problem. As a contribution, a solution based on combinatorial optimization is proposed for the resolution of the problem.
