Abstract

In this paper, we formulate three software development planning models with constraints, based on the expected total software cost, cumulative software testing resources (efforts), and expected residual number of software faults. Taking account of the software operational profile, we solve the non-linear optimization problems to allocate the optimal testing resources for a given software release time. An illustrative example is given under realistic assumptions.
