A common problem in examination of identified models is how to test possible pole-zero cancellations. A systematic way of performing such tests taking the uncertainty of the model parameters into account is suggested. In particular, application to models obtained with least squares identification is considered. The proposed method turns out to be an efficient way of applying the generalized least squares method.
