Abstract

The main result of this paper is to show that the linear part can be made decoupled from the nonlinear part in Hammerstein model identification. Therefore, identification of the linear part for a Hammerstein model becomes a linear problem and accordingly enjoys the same convergence and consistency results as if the unknown nonlinearity is absent.
