In this paper, the author present a new implementation method of the place metadatabase generation system for geocoding. Geocoding is used for translating place names to geocodes, which are often pairs of latitude and longitude values. Its main contribution is to formalize a process for automatically generating a place metadatabase by analyzing multiple document sets. Thus, the applicable scope of the proposed geocoding system will be expanded greatly. The feasibility of the method is clarified in several experiments.
