Abstract

The development of electronic financial markets is moving rapidly. Banks are moving towards electronic banking in order to gain a prominent place in the emerging electronic world. The development of a robust and secure communications infrastructure is a key factor to building up an electronic banking system. In this paper, a framework is provided for the design of bank communications systems. The key issues of high availability, traffic prioritization and security are discussed and a framework is presented for the design of bank communications systems that focuses on these issues.
