Abstract

The problem of determining the optimum adjustment to a calibration renewal interval of a device under test is treated within the context of a Markovian decision process. The model calculates the total expected adjustment to the calibration interval of the device as it goes from one state to the next. The possible states of the device are: within specification, out-of-specification, and non-significant.
