Abstract

Virtually all AHP studies reported in the literature entail paired comparison ratio judgments from respondents. This paper considers situations where respondents can only supply ordinal judgments with reliability and validity. Results of the paper can also be applied to ratio scaled paired comparison matrices to test for ordinal response inconsistencies. The paper introduces an ordinal Coefficient of Consistence and a nonparametric test of paired comparison response circular triads (inconsistencies).
