Uncertainty is an important character of locking performance in a database system. from the viewpoint of system designing, it has practical value to provide the confidence region of throughput rate through the variance analysis of locking performance. However, the early studies of locking performance are limited only on mean value analysis. Based on a versatile Markovian point process [1-3], this paper estimates the variance of throughput rate under a variety of locking schemes.
