Abstract

Digital TV is now being enhanced with interactivity based on such standards as multimedia home platform (MHP) and digital TV application software environment (DASE). Recording digital TV with interactivity poses some problems when the interactivity is directly linked to the A/V content. In this paper we propose a method of recording interactive TV, taking MHP as an example, which separates the interactivity from the A/V content. The interactivity is multiplexed in the broadcast in a DSM-CC object carousel. Taking the interactivity out of the transport stream (TS) and storing it separately allows us to solve the problems related to recording interactive TV.
