This article discusses a timely and relevant problem that deals with the subject of recatched web pages during an internet virus attack. An innovative and appropriate statistical model is introduced and used in this article. The main premise is that the intervened Poisson distribution represents a better model for capturing web-page changes during the spread of an internet virus. This article further addresses the issue of whether the recatching process should continue when the high number of changes exceeds a critical threshold value. Method for determining this critical value is discussed in the article.
