Abstract

Differentiated services IP is the recently proposed internet protocol that provides service discrimination by packet-based treatment. It differs from the integrated service IP and its RSVP protocol in that per-flow state and signalling do not need to be maintained on every hop. This paper investigates the Premium Service in the Differentiated Services. A preliminary performance evaluation is given by the IP simulator QUIPS.
