Abstract

There are several misconceptions about E-commerce: *That it is just about buying things over the Internet; *That E-commerce is somehow different to M-commerce; *That B2B and B2C are different disciplines. Well, fundamentally, these are all wrong. E-commerce is about conducting business electronically - and that involves everything from standard business communication to multi-million pound purchasing. But it is also about opening up your systems to your customers and your potential customers - it is about inviting visitors onto your extranet to view and buy your products. And it doesn't ultimately matter whether the visitor is a business or a person; or using a desktop PC or a mobile phone: it's all E-commerce.
