An approximation method for sojourn time distributions is introduced and the performance of an IN/ISDN signaling platform is evaluated in terms of the mean sojourn time and the sojourn time distribution using the approximation method. The approximation results agree with simulation results. This approximation method can be applied to various telecommunication networks.
