Abstract

An analysis of seven information concepts employed by organizational theorists and researchers is undertaken from the viewpoint of information management. All the examined concepts lack specificity and the capacity for practical application. Nonetheless certain concepts relate to areas of activity crucial to effective information management. The descriptive and analytical potential of such concepts need to be realized by information managers.
