Abstract

An approach to functional testing is described in which the design of a program is used to generate functional test data. The approach depends on the use of design methods that model the abstract functional structure of a program as well as the abstract structure of the data on which the program operates. An example of the use of the method is given and a discussion of its effectiveness is included.
