Abstract

This paper takes a fresh look at the M/G/1 queue with Bernoulli feedback. Various aspects of this queue have been analyzed in the queueing literature. The principal contribution of this paper is a proof based on some branching process-like concepts which simplifies the derivation of certain performance measures associated with this queue and explains the 'physical significance' of some of the quantities that appear in the complex expressions characterizing these performance measures.
