Abstract

We propose a simple and computationally efficient optimal method in recursive fashion to solve the problem of determining the number and timing of replenishment points, and the amount to be ordered at each replenishment in order to minimize the total ordering, inventory, and shortage costs in the case of a deterministic demand pattern having a linear trend.
