Abstract

In this work, information systems are analyzed in the perspective of the companies that are implementing those systems. A model for evaluating the success of information systems in companies is proposed. This model is supported in the Model of DeLone and McLean [5]. It is also analyzed, the impact of the life cycle to the success of the information system, relating each phase of the cycle with the dimensions of the evaluation model. It is also intention to go a step further and trying to relate the success dimensions with the constraints that may occur throughout the implementation process (technical, organizational, human, financial and time) and also with the size of firms. If ERP suppliers and consultants know how to manage the life cycle of the system that is being implemented and know how to identify the features most valued by customers, consultants and suppliers will certainly be able to adapt their methodologies and focus their efforts on what is really important to the demand. This general view of business makes the supply more adapted and more competitive.
