Abstract

Zawilinski is our Java library that helps undergraduates conduct research on Wikipedia and Wiktionary. It simplifies the loading and filtering MediaWiki XML dumps so that the resulting object tree will fit into the memory of a typical PC, thereby eliminating the need for advanced programming techniques to access Wikipedia and Wiktionary data.
