Abstract

Innovative therapies for cancer treatment are subject of uncertainties, according to the medical and the economical point of view, and regarding the efficiency of centres using them. We propose a tool for the evaluation of radiotherapy centres. The suggested prototype is a multi-agent system composed by four main models, a recruitment model, a scheduling model, and two economical models. The first model includes a specific description of centres, regarding facilities in rooms and medical preferences about treatments. It takes into account the description of the patient, according to its disease and available treatments. The economical models refer to methods about the estimation of a price per treatment, and the comparison of different medical strategies. We study the theoretical number of patients interested in this kind of treatments. Then the evaluation of a price per treatment, according the functioning of the hospital, and a comparison with other therapeutic strategies. We focus our attention, in this paper, on the scheduling model. Preliminary results concerning the treatment time per room during one year of the simulation process are presented at the end of the paper.
