Image composite is the most commonly approach in digital image forgery, and artificial blur operation used to conceal the combination edge of the image, which will change the features of the edge. We analyzed the characteristics of the fuzzy edge, and give a definition of edge width depend on the number of pixels. A novel method based on the edge width of blind detection is proposed to detect the forged digital images, the edge width will increase after the artificial blur operation, the proposed method make use of this character to detect the forgery area. The results of experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can detect the artificial blurred edge of digital image effectively, and is help to identify the forged image and locate the forgery area.
