Human task management is an integral part of WS-* based service-oriented solutions like ESBs as human interactions are important for business processes. Also alternative REST-based service-oriented solutions provide support for business processes but lack interoperable human task management solutions. In the PhD project we are investigating possibilities and limits of incorporating human tasks in REST-based service solutions. We present a first approach and discuss the design of the remaining research process including challenges, potential benefits, and open issues.
