Abstract

A wireless personal area network standard such as Bluetooth developed by IEEE committee 802.15. operates in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz industrial-scientific-medical band. This band has many unpredictable interference sources such as microwave ovens and local area networks, using the same industrial-scientific-medical frequency band. In order to avoid interference effects it can be able to use turbo coder with bit-interleaved for these applications. In this paper, performance of the Bluetooth system including bit-interleaved turbo coded modulation is investigated. The obtained computer simulation results are given as bit-error-rate versus bit energy-to-noise ratio (E"b/N"0).
