Abstract

This paper focuses on finding the most relevant and smallest possible subset of features for DDoS attack detection. A generic architecture of victim end DDoS defense mechanisms is presented and a near real time anomaly detection mechanism with high detection accuracy is introduced. The method is evaluated based on two real time and one benchmark dataset.
