Abstract

This paper describes an original approach developed to enrich a formal language learning environment by means of suggestions of related web pages automatically retrieved at run time from social bookmarking sites. The users of the environment are also invited to share within the platform an indication of personal like or dislike, which constitutes a help for the fellow users in the selection of valuable web resources of their interest. This paper describes the aims, structure and operation of the mentioned bookmark-retrieving tool, and summarizes students' use and appreciation of it in a short pilot experimentation. Finally, the critical elements for its successful operation are highlighted.
