Abstract

A chaos-based selective encryption scheme implemented on the Audio Video Standard (AVS) is proposed. The scheme employs multiple Rényi chaotic maps to generate a pseudorandom bit sequence for the encryption of selected AVS syntax elements using cipher block chaining (CBC) mode. It maintains the bitstream format compliance while provides sufficient protection by destroying the commercial value of video clips reconstructed without the key. Moreover, the security analysis shows that the proposed algorithm is highly sensitive to the secret key and has good perceptual security.
