Abstract

Mobile phone has been the major device for taking photos in our daily lives. In this paper, we create a novel iOS application called PhotoGuide to aid iPhone users for efficient photographing. The system automatically assesses the quality of the preview images from iPhone's camera using attention-based perceptual assessment method, based on which the users could find an optimized camera-view and distance for taking the photos. According to the feedback from the users, the system will adaptively change the parameters shifting to a personalized working mode, which is design to satisfy specialized photographing environments and personal preference. We also designed a friendly user interface to improve the user experience. Comprehensive user studies well indicate the significant improvement both in photographic effect and user's experience.
