Imperceptibility and robustness are two important issues of watermarking algorithms. A proper balance between these two is possible by finding suitable scaling factor. In this paper we employed differential evolution (DE) algorithm to find optimal multiple scaling factors (SFs). The watermark is divided into two parts and are embedded in singular value matrices of HL and LH sub-bands of wavelet transformed cover image. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme maintains a satisfactory image quality and watermark can still be identified after various attacks even though the watermarked image is seriously distorted.
