Abstract

Much of the recent literature on the subject of the role a Computer Science program plays in a liberal arts school has to do with "model curriculum," and various questions of implementation[1][3][6][7][8]. This recent research is generally based on the assumption that the question of whether or not computer science is a good fit has been answered affirmatively. Although there is now wide consensus in the affirmative, [3][6][8] there are skeptics who would argue that traditionally we don't do such things in a liberal arts school. This is true, but traditionally mankind has not lived in a digital age.
