Abstract

Misperceptions of what computer science is and what computer scientists do are one of the key factors that can influence a woman's decision to pursue an education in computer science. We have developed a curriculum designed to expose young women to a wide range of topics, improve their computer science-related skills and also have a lasting impact on them after the program. Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the program suggests that we achieved a moderate level of success, and provides guidance for areas for improvement.
