Abstract

In the complex and changing environment of software development, it is imperative that software managers have current and meaningful information to support decision making. This article discusses a system that draws information from all phases of the software life cycle and analyzes that data from a software manager's workstation. With the analysis tools available at the workstation and data extracted from the various phases of development, managers can begin to form a model of the software development life cycle and measure the success or failure of software projects in quantitative terms.
