Abstract

The paper presents an automatic approach to the recognition of the industrial tools on the basis of their image registered by the camera. The solved tasks include: the automatic localization of the tools in the image, preprocessing of the image (binarization, noise removal, filling the holes, normalization, etc.), generation of the numerical descriptors, verification of descriptors in the role of the diagnostic features, selection of the features and final stage of classification of the tools. The efficiency of the developed system has been verified on the example of exemplary set of industrial tools and the results of this verification are presented and discussed in the paper.
