Abstract

In recent years, social multimedia has played an increasingly important role in social network. In a series popular social network services, such as twitter, Facebook, micro-blog, WeChat, multimedia content and information has draws increasing interest among users. This suggests that social multimedia have become the main trend of social contact. Compared to the widely used textual material, audio and video brings people more vivid experience and abundant information. In the other side, mobile terminal equipments have much larger market share than traditional desktop computers and will be an important manner of social communication. Although mobile application occupies a big market share, it also faces its own challenge: How to use the limited bandwidth of mobile networks to transmit the massive amount of audio data in social multimedia. In this paper, we present the AVS-P10 mobile speech and audio encoding algorithm to resolve this problem. AVS-P10 has high-efficiency and flexible compressing quality, strong error resilience mechanism, low complexity mode, which contributes its wide usage in mobile social multimedia applications.
