Abstract

Content-Centric Networks is a new architecture for the future internet to route the packets over the network using the content names instead of their generating source. This architecture will play an important role in providing an efficient and secure network architecture for the future internet. More precisely, the security of content-centric networks greatly depends upon securing the content itself instead of its propagation path. However, this makes the management of cryptographic keys, used in securing the contents, a challenging task. Hence a reliable and secure key management scheme is required to suit this future internet architecture. In this paper, we propose a secure key management scheme, where every key is based on the content itself and its current location. We used the ccnSim simulator to evaluate the performance in terms of key retrieval time while the security validation is done using the AVISPA tool.
