Abstract

The Public Software Ecosystem (PSE) is one of the foundations of the Brazilian policy for use, development and innovation in information technology. The PSE brings together thousands of people spread in communities of users, developers and service providers; all of them are interconnected, working for the improvement of the artifacts and opening opportunities for new business. The objective of this paper is to analyze the dynamics of the relationships within the communities and their trend of evolution. The results of the exploratory data analysis show that (i) some communities are evolving while others are decreasing their activities and (ii) its seems that the formers take the advantage of support actions accomplished by the government aiming to reinforce the process of problem solving and the discovery of opportunities by the PSE.
