Abstract

This paper proposes a re-designed synchronization strategy in Data Vortex optical interconnection network that allows for minimum physical latency. The paths between different routing levels are significantly shortened to minimize unnecessary delay while routing paths within the same routing level maintain the same length as the packet slot for on-the-fly routing operation. The results show a dramatic improvement in physical latency of the packets and effectiveness and simplicity of the strategy.
