This paper aimed to present partial results of an evaluation of main Facebook resources and the potential impacts of them on social interaction of Facebook users. The methodology adopted consisted applying the Semiotic Inspection Method (SIM) to identify the proposal by the Facebook's designer. The method was applied at main and more used functions on this social network (e.g., news feed, messages, groups, among others). Subsequently, we realized a profiles evaluation of 100 users, in order to determine whether the designer's proposal goes according to what users use in practice. As result, we found that the Facebook has some problems that may impact on the social interaction.
