Abstract

A major impediment for using OFDM is high peak-to-average power ratio PAPR, which significantly reduces the efficiency of high power amplifiers and increases power consumption. In this paper, we introduce a new and simple method for PAPR reduction by flipping the peaks of signals. Very low complexity, simple implementation, capability of good PAPR reduction and BER performance are the main advantages of this innovative approach. With this method there is no need to send any side information to the receiver for signal reconstruction. Due to the novel way, PAPR is reduced and increasing the number of carrier does not affect the complexity of the algorithm.
