Abstract

This paper describes the Delivery Processing Undercarriage (DPU) which is a communication facility to support systems with distributed computer architectures. Communication and synchronization are supported via the client/server model, and the issues of implementation portability, communication portability, and data portability are addressed. The portability advantages of the DPU allow Ada programs running on multiple heterogeneous computer systems to communicate in a standard and straightforward manner.
