Abstract

This paper presents the impacts of the Ada language on a project by comparing the software from two generations of equipments which perform the same functions. The first generation of software was developed using the C language and the second generation of software was developed using the Ada language.The comparisons include the impacts on the hardware design, the software development environment, the amount of training, the software design methodology, the software programming, the testing methodology, the software useability, the integrity of the software documentation, and the maintainability of the software.
