In this paper we present a project to provide fault tolerance in distributed Ada 95 applications by means of replication of partitions. Replication is intended to be largely transparent to an application. A group communication system is used for replica management. We examine some of the possibilities for implementing such a system and highlight some of the difficulties encountered in the context of the programming language Ada 95.
