Abstract

The continuing proliferation of new processors and new languages creates a demand for program assemblers that can be parameterized with respect to the program assembly languages they translate. MAUFI differs from the usual implementation of meta-assemblers in that its user interface is extremely simple to use. The user interface consists of a number of visual forms whose formats vary according to user inputs. A new assembler could be produced simply by a user filling in fields provided in the forms according to the assembly language manual, the tediousness of learning the formalism of a meta-assembly language is avoided.
