Abstract

We describe a routing algorithm which is adjustable in its operation. The routing medium is composed of cells with variable parameters such as depth, via density, channel density, etc. Routing is carried out within these parametric bounds on an abstract board, which is then mapped to the physical board in a postprocessing step. The internal details of the routing process are presented. Some results are presented which show the influence of placement, channel density and layering on routability.
