Abstract

Goals and content: The moring session will introduce the concepts of information filtering, develop a taxonomy of the techniques used, and take a detailed look at present and historical applications of collaborative filtering technology. The afternoon session will investigate design issues including algorithms for making recommendations, obtaining user ratings, privacy, communications, and data storage.
