Abstract

This paper discusses the basic concepts of using a spectrally based approach to identify a polynomial response surface model. We show that this approach is closely related to classical experimental design methods. We concentrate on the use of Walsh Spectra, and show that an experiment which is constructed in this fashion corresponds to a traditional 2k factorial design.
