Abstract

Intelligent Pictorial Databases increase the ease and the efficiency with which pictorial information can be utilized. In this paper, a frame-based pictorial knowledge representation is presented. Representation of geometric, color, and texture information is considered. Aggregation, generalization/ specialization, class/individualization, and inheritance of pictorial knowledge are exploited. The resulting knowledge representation is implemented in KPE, a knowledge programming tool developed in [6].
